Laboratory Assistant Certified

We are seeking a skilled Laboratory Assistant Certified to join our team at Christus Health. As a Laboratory Assistant Certified, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of laboratory operations. Your attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment will be essential in this role.
Responsibilities:
Accurately evaluate specimen orders and enter clinical data into various computer systems. Identify missing or invalid data entry information and take corrective action. Operate automated and semi-automated equipment according to standard operating procedures. Effectively communicate supply deficiencies to appropriate personnel. Meet expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders. Accurately document information as required, including processing logs, quality control, and labeling of reagents. Clean, sanitize, and maintain laboratory equipment and glassware. Maintain and distribute laboratory supplies. Package laboratory biohazard waste for disposal following established standards and practices. Maintain laboratory coat supply. Order, receive, stock, ship, and track laboratory equipment and supplies. Ensure all equipment is functioning correctly or schedule equipment repair or replacement. Track equipment calibrations and preventative maintenance. Maintain inventory of all consumables and reagents. Assist in arranging the disposal of biohazard and chemical waste. Assist with the enforcement of all laboratory policies and procedures. Assist in enforcing safety around PPEs (personal protective equipment's). Follow established protocols for safety, infection control, security, compliance, and the use of hazardous materials.
Requirements:
Associate of Science Degree preferred. Basic knowledge in the areas of microbiology, immunology, or molecular biology and biochemistry as related to infectious diseases required. 1 year of experience in a clinical laboratory setting or length of time to complete certification program preferred. Medical Laboratory Assistant Certification or Phlebotomist Certification - PBT (ASCP), RPT (AMT), CPT (NPA) or equivalent required. Louisiana requires State Licensure.
