City of New York is looking for two dedicated Job Opportunity Specialist I to serve as Case Resolution Specialists.
Under the supervision of the Case Resolution Supervisor, these specialists will be responsible for reviewing and addressing case inquiries from partner community-based organizations regarding cash assistance, SNAP, medical assistance, and employment services. They will conduct thorough investigations into case actions, implement necessary corrections, and take appropriate measures to resolve any outstanding issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Examine case inquiries and perform research within Agency systems
- Communicate updates to representatives of community-based organizations
- Assess eligibility for cash, SNAP, and medical assistance programs
- Facilitate eligibility referrals for various services and benefits
- Engage in discussions about eligibility criteria with community representatives
- Authorize modifications in assistance and budgets based on verified information
- Input client data into systems and manage clearances
- Draft comprehensive reports on case actions and histories
- Evaluate applicants for emergency benefits
Minimum Qualifications:
- Baccalaureate degree or equivalent
- High school diploma accompanied by two years of relevant experience
- College credits may be considered in lieu of work experience
Additional Information:
- This position is open to qualified individuals with disabilities eligible for the 55-a Program
- Potential eligibility for loan forgiveness programs
- New York City residency is not a requirement
