Job Overview

The Recreation Center Supervisor is tasked with overseeing the daily functions of the recreation facilities managed by the City of New Albany. This role involves organizing, instructing, and leading a variety of recreational programs tailored for children aged 5 to 13. The supervisor will collaborate with team members to implement weekly activities and ensure a safe and engaging environment for all participants.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. *Develop and execute a diverse range of recreational programs for youth.
  2. *Plan and facilitate weekly arts and crafts, team sports, and social activities in partnership with colleagues.
  3. *Ensure familiarity with the rules and regulations governing all sports and games for youth.
  4. *Provide nutritious snacks to participants.
  5. *Conduct daily inspections of equipment and facilities to maintain safety standards.
  6. *Promote positive social interactions among children and teenagers.
  7. *Manage all necessary documentation, including timecards and permission slips, ensuring timely submission.
  8. *Exercise sound judgment in disciplinary matters and adhere to established policies.
  9. *Guide and train junior staff and activity aides.
  10. *Engage with community members to foster interest and support for recreational programs.
  11. *Perform all duties with a focus on safety, reporting any hazards and using equipment responsibly.
  12. *Communicate regularly with the Recreation Director regarding facility operations.
  13. *Complete additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:
