Key Responsibilities
The Director of Anatomic Pathology will be responsible for:
- Leading the Anatomic Pathology Service and ensuring operational excellence.
- Developing and implementing standardized procedures to enhance service delivery.
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
- Evaluating and managing the competency of pathology staff.
- Supervising Pathologist Assistants and Cytotechnologists while actively engaging in the education of medical students.
- Serving as the Assistant Director of Cytology.
- Maintaining a clinical workload that includes specimen examination and autopsy performance.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Board Certification in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology.
- A valid, unrestricted medical license to practice in New York.
- A minimum of five years of clinical experience, including supervisory roles.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to teamwork.
- Experience in educating residents, fellows, and medical students.
