Equitas Health seeks a skilled Community Health Outreach Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our prevention program, you will be responsible for implementing day-to-day activities, working with program staff, and organizing volunteers and interns.

The Community Health Outreach Coordinator is responsible for the implementation of day-to-day activities by providing HIV/STI/HCV testing, counseling, referral, and education services in Equitas Health designated sites. This includes creating and distributing harm reduction materials such as condoms, lube, and sharps containers.

A key aspect of this role is planning, organizing, assisting, monitoring, and evaluating all aspects of the project. This includes traveling, driving or having reliable transportation, utilizing a computer for typing and data inputting, online outreach, and conducting research. You will also be required to attend meetings and present to small and large groups.

In addition, the Community Health Outreach Coordinator will conduct outreach and distribute educational materials, including safer drug use materials and safer sex materials to Persons Who Inject Drugs (PWID) and others in affected demographics. You will also assess client needs and make appropriate referrals, engage with Stages of Change and Motivational Interviewing practice, and stay in communication with the team to coordinate regular program hours or appointments.

This role requires strong customer service skills and/or experience, as well as expertise with LGBTQIA+ communities. You must have a reliable means of transportation and adequate insurance, as statewide travel will be required. A background in HIV and STI prevention and education, and/or knowledge of the field, and experience with information and referral services is preferred.

We are looking for someone who has strong written and verbal communications, public speaking and group facilitation experience is preferred. You must have sensitivity to, interest in, and competence in cultural differences, HIV/AIDS, minority health, sexual practices, harm reduction, and a demonstrated competence in working with Black, Indigenous, Persons of Color (BIPOC), Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer (LGBTQ) communities.

This role offers a competitive salary of $37,000-$46,200 per year, depending on location and experience. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as paid time off and holidays.
