Job Description

As a Software Engineer for the Department of the Navy's Global Command and Control System – Maritime (GCCS-M) program, you will be part of a dynamic team that provides undersea operations experience, combined with engineering and specific subject matter expertise.

The qualified candidate will provide Software Engineering services to support the GCCS-M program, defining and clarifying system requirements, testing, validating, and implementing new solutions, communicating solutions to management and sponsors, writing technical documentation and procedures, and working independently as well as in a team.

Responsibilities:

  • Define and clarify system requirements
  • Test, Validate and Implement new solutions
  • Communicate solutions to management and sponsors
  • Write technical documentation and procedures
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team
  • Travel to and install software following procedures and scripts
  • Work with customers and team members via Phone, Email, and Chat

Required Experience & Skills:

  • Candidate will be working full-time onsite in a DoD Facility
  • Excellent Troubleshooting skills
  • Effective communication, both verbal and written
  • Ability to self-regulate and complete tasking on time

  • Windows Services (Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, etc)
  • Windows Applications (Exchange, SharePoint, SQL, etc)
  • CANES Experience
  • Cisco Training/Certification
  • Java/JavaScript
  • Tomcat
  • ActiveMQ
  • MySQL
  • Active DoD Secret or Higher Clearance
  • Veteran/Retired US Military

Work Location:

Newport RI, no telework available.
