Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking an experienced Associate Corporate Counsel to support the growing volume of complex cloud modernization agreements with enterprise customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead high-stakes, competitive, time-intensive negotiations with enterprise customers.
  • Evaluate and draft custom contract terms.
  • Influence and earn trust with enterprise customers.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and subject matter experts to resolve customer issues and minimize risk to AWS.
Requirements:
  • 2+ years of legal experience.
  • Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent.
  • Transactional experience, including drafting and negotiating commercial contracts.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Ability to lead customer-facing negotiations and resolve customer questions and concerns, while providing consistent reporting on deal status and outcomes to stakeholders.
  • Ability to explain standard agreement terms to counterparties and negotiate fallback positions to those terms where appropriate.
  • Ability to advise business teams to support the strategy, negotiation, and execution of commercial contracts.
  • Ability to create, maintain, and improve standard operating procedures and negotiation resources pertaining to commercial contracting.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $118,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $195,700/year in our highest geographic market.

Pay is based on a number of factors, including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
