Job Summary
Fairview Health Services is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psych Associate to join our team at the University of Minnesota Emergency Department. As a member of our interdependent care team, you will be responsible for assisting the nursing staff in maintaining a safe and healing environment in the inpatient setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the nursing staff in maintaining a safe and healing environment
- Respond to patient needs and supply to efficient unit operations
- Observe patients as delegated by and under the supervision of the Registered Nurse
- Participate in de-escalation of patient situations, including physical intervention as trained
- Actively participate in milieu management with treatment teamwork
- Perform basic patient daily living routines and procedures according to treatment plan
- Conduct educational programming with individual and/or patient groups according to appropriate treatment plan
- Respond to emergency situations as trained per policy
- Participate in the treatment team's mission, goals, and plans
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree
- Basic Life Support Certification
- Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Psychology or Human Services Field, Experience working in the mental health field
