Position Overview


Visa's Corporate IT division is undergoing a significant transformation. We are shifting away from the conventional IT approach of merely acquiring off-the-shelf solutions and integrating them. Instead, we are evolving into a genuine engineering organization that prioritizes customer experience, creating robust and highly valued platforms with a strong focus on operational excellence.

In this role, reporting directly to the Chief Information Officer, you will lead the Legal & Compliance IT division. Your innovative leadership, motivation, and guidance will be crucial in ensuring that IT effectively meets strategic objectives and business requirements.


Your responsibilities will include fostering innovation and experimentation, delivering software solutions that not only meet but exceed customer and stakeholder expectations, and shaping business requirements to optimally utilize technology teams.


You will oversee a global, cross-functional team comprising senior engineers, solution architects, technical project managers, and operations teams, defining technology project architecture and strategy while providing essential guidance to stakeholders.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement technology strategies and roadmaps aligned with business objectives in Legal & Compliance.
  • Lead a growth-oriented organization by recruiting, training, and maintaining high-performing teams, fostering a safe and diverse work environment.
  • Collaborate with business units on the technical strategy for next-generation cloud solutions.
  • Work closely with executive management to establish priorities, direction, and timelines.
  • Research and apply best practices and industry innovations across the business and technology landscape.
  • Oversee the preparation of business cases and needs analysis for the application portfolio.
  • Develop an integration strategy to ensure a cohesive user interface and a single source of information.
  • Coordinate with functional and technical staff to lead system-related projects and initiatives.
  • Provide leadership and oversight for large transformational programs across various functional teams, including third-party vendors.
  • Mentor and manage a team of business analysts, process analysts, software engineers, and support resources globally.
  • Keep executive management updated on progress and challenges affecting project architecture and implementation.
  • Manage workforce planning, budget development, tracking, and forecasting to achieve project objectives.


This is a hybrid position, allowing employees to alternate between remote and office work. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week, with a general guideline of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.


Qualifications


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 12 years of relevant experience with a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Science, or Math; or 10 years of relevant experience with an advanced degree; or 8 years of relevant experience with a PhD.
  • Proven technology leadership experience with a focus on developing and leading high-performance teams.
  • Extensive knowledge of corporate and packaged applications.
  • Experience in planning, designing, and implementing efficient business and system solutions for Legal, Risk, Compliance, or HR functions.
  • Experience deploying enterprise resource planning (ERP) applications in global organizations.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 15+ years of relevant experience with an advanced degree.
  • 15+ years of technology leadership experience with increasing responsibilities.
  • Experience with ITIL, Six Sigma, or Agile methodologies.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal direction and adapt to changing requirements.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills with a track record of leading global, multi-functional teams.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technology strategies to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to drive consensus among diverse global technology and business partners.
  • High ethical standards and sound judgment in working with individuals at all levels.


Additional Information

  • Work Hours: Varies based on departmental needs.
  • Travel Requirements: This position may require travel 5-10% of the time.
  • Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting, requiring the ability to sit and stand at a desk, communicate effectively, and operate standard office equipment.
