Your Role:
The Middle School Mathematics Educator is dedicated to enhancing student achievement by collaborating on lesson design, sharing insights, co-teaching, and providing resources and information to families. With exceptional communication, organizational abilities, and a vibrant energy, the Mathematics Educator fosters both academic and personal development among students, ensuring that all learners thrive and cultivate strong character traits. The Educator ensures that students comprehend the school-wide expectations and policies while consistently encouraging adherence to established guidelines in communal areas.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement lessons while managing the classroom in an engaging, challenging, and purposeful manner.
- Utilize State Standards as a framework for lesson planning.
- Execute all sanctioned curricular programs effectively.
- Engage with families through direct communication to discuss student progress and maintain a detailed log of interactions.
- Oversee classroom environments as productive learning communities and uphold school-wide behavioral expectations.
- Submit weekly lesson plans that demonstrate alignment with the Scope & Sequence.
- Prepare and organize lesson plans for substitute educators in case of unexpected absences.
- Coordinate planning sessions with Special Education Teachers and provide them with lesson plans for collaborative evaluation and enhancement.
- Work closely with grade-level colleagues in planning, student support, transitions, and resource management.
- Provide students with report cards each quarter reflecting their performance and behavior, along with quarterly progress updates.
- Collaborate with Academic Intervention Services and Special Education specialists to facilitate student progress through coordinated lesson planning, data sharing, co-teaching, and resource provision.
- Participate in Child Study Team meetings to develop comprehensive Response to Intervention plans and contribute positively to identifying academic and developmental interventions for students.
- Adhere to all testing and data reporting timelines.
- Maintain detailed anecdotal and formal evaluative records (checklists, notes, assessments, etc.).
- Actively engage in weekly grade-level planning meetings to collaboratively design units of study and weekly lessons with fellow educators, specialists, and administrators.
- Attend all faculty meetings.

Qualifications:
- Proven success in an urban educational environment.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
- A Master's degree in Education or a relevant field (preferred).
- New York State Certification (preferred).
Compensation:
Annual salary range: $64,789 - $124,205 based on experience.
This compensation range is provided in good faith for candidates hired in these roles.
