About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Mathematics Teacher to join our team at Bedford Stuyvesant New Beginnings Charter School. As a Mathematics Teacher, you will play a vital role in shaping the educational experience of our students and helping them develop a deep understanding of mathematical concepts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to the diverse needs of our students.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure our curriculum meets and exceeds the common core standards of learning.
  • Partner with the math team to develop effective learning strategies for students who require academic interventions.
  • Work closely with peers and school administrators to develop multifaceted curriculum that integrates multiple subjects and approaches.
  • Take an entrepreneurial approach to your curriculum, teaching methods, and optional duties, allowing you to be flexible, forward-looking, and creative.
  • Regularly report student progress while maintaining accurate and up-to-date records related to scholars' achievement and performance.
  • Assist with preparing students for New York State exams.
  • Communicate frequently with scholars, parents, colleagues, and other school staff members with information pertinent to your scholars and their performance.
Requirements
  • A valid and current New York State Teacher Certification.
  • A bachelor's degree, preferably in Education or a related field.
  • A measurable and proven track record of teaching success in a NY District or Charter School.
  • At least two years of classroom teaching experience, preferably in an urban school.
