Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Traffic Design Engineer to join our team at Traffic Planning & Design. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing traffic management plans, working with multi-disciplinary teams, and analyzing demographic and transportation planning data.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement traffic management plans, including work zone traffic, intersection design, and traffic signal design.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project success.
  • Analyze demographic and transportation planning data to inform project decisions.
  • Prepare and modify specifications, plans, construction schedules, permits, and designs for projects.
  • Monitor construction progress and ensure compliance with contract documents.
  • Assist with traffic studies, corridor planning, feasibility studies, and safety audits.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (required).
  • Professional Engineering License (PE) in NC or ability to obtain within 2 years (preferred).
  • Knowledge of CADD Software (AutoCAD/Civil3D experience preferred).
  • Knowledge of NCSDOT/NCDPW design standards, including traffic signal design, signing and striping, ADA compliance, pavement design, work zone traffic control, and/or access permitting.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work on multiple projects and meet multiple deadlines.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Valid Driver's License.
