Position Overview

Role Responsibilities

The Supplier Specialist role is a full-time position that involves local travel. Travel to other regions may be required periodically. Candidates should be prepared for potential regional travel opportunities. Pre-employment background checks and drug screenings are mandatory.

  • Establish and nurture collaborative relationships with assigned suppliers to fulfill customer needs.
  • Oversee the supplier's Open Order Report in collaboration with the supplier to mitigate risks and enhance delivery performance.
  • Engage with challenging sub-tiers to boost communication and set realistic production timelines.
  • Encourage interdepartmental communication to avert unnecessary delays.
  • Provide regular updates on critical components and overall delivery metrics.
  • Monitor delivery performance trends and initiate root cause analysis along with corrective measures.
  • Local travel is a requirement of the position.
  • Perform additional tasks as needed.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Must be a US citizen.
  • A college degree is preferred; however, relevant experience may substitute for formal education.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in manufacturing is required, with a preference for candidates with aerospace and defense industry experience.
  • Must hold a valid driver's license and successfully pass a pre-employment motor vehicle history check.
  • Proficient in Supply Chain Management, Production Control, and Shop Floor Management.
  • Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies, Lean Manufacturing principles, Risk Management, Six Sigma, and Kaizen events is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills are essential.
  • Demonstrated professionalism, integrity, and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to make independent decisions, coupled with strong analytical skills and sound judgment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is required.
  • Experience with electronics commodities is a plus.
