Salary
The estimated annual salary for this position ranges from $117,300 in our lowest geographic market up to $202,800 in our highest geographic market. This compensation reflects the cost of labor across various US markets and may vary based on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Intelligence Engineer (BIE) to join our Commercial Revenue Operations team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for defining the business intelligence vision, strategy, and best practices. You will lead the design, implementation, and delivery of high-impact BI solutions in a startup environment with limited guidance. Your primary goal will be to translate strategic and operational data needs into necessary data models, ETL pipelines, reports, and visualizations that inform business planning, sales performance, customer life-cycle analysis, capacity management, and more.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and maintain complex visualizations to monitor and report business performance metrics.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret large datasets from diverse sources to identify trends and patterns.
- Implement data governance best practices to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and compliance with security and privacy regulations.
- Proactively identify opportunities to improve data quality, performance, and usability of existing dashboards and reports.
- Work on data pipelines, data models, and leverage the AWS tech stack to build visualizations.
- Map security controls to systems to present this data to auditors both internal and external.
- Collect event logs from systems and devices to present the data on dashboards for key indicators on health.
- Collect group membership data from systems to present the data in dashboards for visibility into who has access to what services.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you must have at least 10 years of professional or military experience, 5+ years of SQL experience, experience programming to extract, transform, and clean large multi-TB data sets, and experience with AWS technologies. Additionally, you should have experience with scripting for automation, advanced SQL skills, and familiarity with information retrieval, data science, machine learning, and data mining concepts. Experience working directly with business stakeholders to translate between data and business needs, managing, analyzing, and communicating results to senior leadership, and experience with data visualization tools like Tableau or Quicksight are preferred qualifications.
