Job Title: Lead Supervisor

Join Precision Castparts Corp, a leading manufacturer of complex structural investment castings, airfoil castings, forged components, aerostructures, and highly engineered critical fasteners for aerospace applications.

Job Summary:

The Lead Supervisor will oversee the day-to-day supervisory functions of the ultrasonic operations, ensuring the planning, scheduling, execution, and assignment of work meet quality, cost, cycle time, and on-time delivery objectives. This role will facilitate the department's implementation of continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure safety and quality adherence on the shop floor.
  • Coordinate with Area Supervisors and Planning teams on production planning and execution.
  • Active role in coordinating with Maintenance and Engineering on daily maintenance priorities and future projects.
  • Supervisor management and development, including training and development of Turn supervisors.
  • Lead ownership for Cost Reduction, Yield Improvement, Productivity Improvements, Cycle Time improvement, On Time Delivery Improvements, Adherence to Budget, and other Department Improvement Initiatives.
  • Run reports in SAP to track and move material throughout the Departments to support throughput and on-time delivery.
  • Support the development and application of programs that promote long-term continuous improvement consistent with the operating objectives of the department.
  • Actively participate in succession planning for personal growth as well as development of other Supervisors.
  • Operational responsibilities in the absence of Dept. Manager.
Requirements:
  • Competencies: Leadership ability, effective communication, safety guidelines, and people development.
  • General knowledge of manufacturing processes.
  • Demonstrated record of developing strong working relationships in a team environment.
  • Ability to arrange multiple priorities and work with several organizational levels.
  • Ability to work through problems and develop appropriate successful solutions.
  • Results-driven, with the ability to thrive in a high-performance manufacturing environment.
  • Cost, quality, and delivery-conscious mindset.
  • Strong customer orientation.
  • Computer literate - MS Office preferred.
Education and Experience:

Four-year degree preferred, with 5-7 years manufacturing experience.

Special Skills:
  • Knowledge of company and department policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of Department volume capacity and equipment limitations.
  • Ability to work with and communicate effectively with planning, maintenance, and Engineering personnel.
  • Strong SAP skills.
  • Team building, conflict resolution, and management skills.
  • Proficient with MS office, Excel, Word, Power Point.
