The Daily Beast is hiring an experienced Government Coverage Specialist to join our team in Washington D.C. As a Government Coverage Specialist, you will be responsible for producing high-quality, engaging content that informs and captivates our readers about the powerbrokers in the second Trump administration, the president-elect's initiatives, major highlights in the-GOP controlled 119th Congress, and pushback from Democrats and their allies in Congress, the courts, and the streets.

Key responsibilities include reporting and writing timely and accurate political news stories, conducting interviews and performing research to uncover the truth, collaborating with editors and other reporters to ensure comprehensive coverage, and staying informed on current political events and trends. We are looking for candidates with a minimum of 3 years of experience in political reporting, exceptional writing, editing, and communication skills, proven ability to work under tight deadlines, strong understanding of political processes and issues, and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
