Service Supervisor

Job Summary:
Dobbs Equipment is seeking a highly skilled Service Supervisor to join our team. As a Service Supervisor, you will be responsible for assisting the Service Department with customer service needs, opening and closing of work orders, and daily operations of shop functions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handle phone calls and advise customers on technical problems, scheduling customer service needs, and planning assigned jobs to work orders.
- Assist in the appraisal and quotes of repair work coming into the shop and discuss with the Service Manager the service required.
- Assist in scheduling shop assignments, field service work, and truck requirements for pickup and delivery of equipment.
- Assist in processing warranty claims and establishing or adjusting work procedures to meet schedules and deadlines.
- Supervise all shop activities when the Service Manager is away from the Branch.
Requirements:
- Valid Driver's License
- Supervisor experience
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent with one-year post-high school education in heavy equipment or two years of mechanical experience as a service technician.
- A 2-year degree and familiarity with industrial equipment, such as construction or forestry equipment, is preferred.
Language Skills:
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Mathematical Skills:
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra, statistics, and geometry.
Reasoning Ability:
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
- This person must possess a valid driver's license and Forklift Certification.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
Work Environment:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
