Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our medical team at Monday Community Correctional Institute. As an LPN, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality medical care to our residents, ensuring their health and well-being.

Key Responsibilities
  • Medical Services: Assist in the completion of new resident physicals, gather information from incoming residents, take and interpret vital signs, prepare residents for medical procedures, and contact physicians and medical institutions as needed.
  • Administrative Tasks: Ensure all medical documents are completed, update medical files, and assist in conducting monthly inventory of medical supplies.
  • Communication and Counseling: Counsel and teach health and hygiene programs to residents, and ensure the confidentiality of all medical records according to HIPAA regulations.
Requirements
  • Education and Certification: Possession of a valid LPN license from the State of Ohio, graduate of an approved practical nursing program, and current CPR certification.
  • Experience: Two years of experience as a practicing LPN required, with chemical dependency, mental health, and/or institutional experience desired.
  • Skills and Abilities: Ability to assess potentially dangerous situations, make sound decisions under stressful conditions, and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Working Conditions

This is a minimum security facility, and all outside access doors are locked at all times. Potential exists for exposure to disease/illness.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift and carry up to light to heavy objects.
  • Ability to stand and walk for a large percentage of the work day.
  • Ability to see and hear in order to carry out duties and responsibilities effectively.
  • Ability to demonstrate dexterity to use hands skillfully.
