Role Overview:

The Exchange Engineer will assist the Exchange Administrator in overseeing, managing, and maintaining the Exchange environment, which supports a diverse user base exceeding 15,000 individuals. The Exchange/O365 infrastructure is vital for the effective functioning of Entergy, making this support role essential for user success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily operations of Microsoft Exchange and its supporting infrastructure, both on-premises and via M365.
  • Handle escalations related to customer support or incidents.
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of the future Exchange environment.
  • Generate necessary system reports, including audits and performance metrics.
  • Provide resolution for issues related to messaging, including root cause analysis and documentation.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

A Bachelor's degree is strongly preferred, ideally in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related technical field.

Experience:

  • At least 2 years of experience in a role as an Exchange Administrator or similar.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Exchange Server.
  • Familiarity with Windows Server, Active Directory, and Azure.
  • Experience with PowerShell scripting for automation and management tasks.
  • Understanding of email security standards and practices.
  • Basic knowledge of networking principles, including TCP/IP, DNS, and firewalls.
  • Experience with at least one ticketing system (e.g., Service Now, Remedy).
  • Awareness of business operations and leading technology practices.
  • Experience in monitoring end-user hardware for compliance and vulnerabilities.

Required Skills:

  • Ability to effectively manage and maintain Microsoft Exchange servers and related infrastructure.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting Microsoft Exchange issues collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Conduct regular system monitoring and verify the completion of scheduled tasks.
  • Provide tier 2 and 3 support for Exchange and messaging-related issues.
  • Assist users with email setup, access issues, and troubleshooting.
  • Manage user accounts, distribution groups, resources, and permissions.
  • Implement and oversee email security protocols.
  • Strong communication skills to convey technical concepts to non-technical users.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multi-location, cross-functional environment.
  • Capability to apply continuous improvement practices for sustainable value delivery.
  • Excellent multitasking and time management skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in problem analysis and technical documentation.
  • Willingness to participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation as needed.
