Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pharmacy Operations Manager to join our team at UPMC. As a key member of our pharmacy team, you will be responsible for managing the daily operations of our pharmacy, ensuring the highest level of patient care and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Management: Provide strategic leadership and direction to the pharmacy team, ensuring effective management of daily operations and achieving departmental goals.
- Medication Safety and Quality: Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure safe and effective medication use, including medication reconciliation, patient education, and medication therapy management.
- Staff Development and Training: Coordinate orientation, training, and competency assessment of pharmacy staff, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
- Compliance and Regulatory Affairs: Maintain compliance with established pharmacy policies and procedures, professional practice guidelines, state pharmacy laws, and regulatory standards.
- Communication and Collaboration: Act as a liaison between service areas and the pharmacy team, coordinating services and resolving issues or problems to ensure a highly effective medication use system.
- Education and Experience: A B.S. degree in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D.) is required, as well as two years of supervisory experience. Current licensure as a Pharmacist in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is also required.
