Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Medical Records Assistant to join our team at Ascension St. Vincent in Indiana. As a Medical Records Assistant, you will play a critical role in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of patient health information.

Responsibilities
  • Receive, analyze, and process health information for completeness, timeliness, and accuracy.
  • Audit the accuracy of electronic and manual entry, and facilitate resolution of any discrepancies.
  • Maintain smooth operational flow by assisting with general clerical duties.
  • Process requests for release of information according to regulatory requirements.
  • Notify physicians and appropriate parties of requests when applicable.
  • Perform clerical and technical duties associated with coding processes and procedures.
Requirements
  • High School diploma equivalency or 1 year of applicable cumulative job-specific experience required.
  • Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
Preferred Qualifications

Medical experience preferred.
