Job Summary

The City of Waco is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to manage the health inspection operations and staff of the On-Site Sewage Facilities (OSSF) program for the Public Health District (PHD). As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for supervising OSSF program and staff, performing and reviewing OSSF inspections to verify compliance with state and local regulations, and facilitating resolution of compliance issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise OSSF program and staff to ensure effective delivery of services
  • Perform and review OSSF inspections to verify compliance with state and local regulations
  • Facilitate resolution of compliance issues through effective communication and negotiation
  • Interpret and enforce statutes, rules, regulations, ordinances, and policies governing environmental health
  • Assure that services provided meet program requirements

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in Health and Safety, Science, Environment, Biological, Applied Science, Water/Wastewater Utilities, or a related field
  • 2 years of construction/public sector inspection experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • OSSF Designated Representative by Texas Commission on Environmental Quality within 90 days
  • Valid Texas Driver's license
