Diagnostic Medical Sonography Lab Assistant

Job Summary:
Tacoma Community College is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Diagnostic Medical Sonography Lab Assistant to join our Imaging Sciences team. As a key member of our team, you will provide exceptional support to students and faculty in the Diagnostic Medical Sonography program, ensuring a positive and productive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor student progress in the laboratory setting and provide guidance and support as needed.
- Assist students with abdominal, small parts, and OB/GYN scanning protocols, ensuring they meet the required standards.
- Communicate laboratory supply needs to DMS and/or RS faculty and staff, ensuring a well-stocked and efficient lab environment.
- Motivate students by providing a positive and supportive environment, fostering their growth and development.
- Utilize technology tools to enhance student learning and engagement in any learning environment.
- Collaborate with DMS and/or RS faculty and staff regarding student concerns and progress.
- Commit to Tacoma Community College's mission and values, embracing equity, diversity, and inclusion in all aspects of your work.
- Coordinate open lab schedules for Imaging Sciences students, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow.
Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited sonography program.
- ARDMS registration in abdomen/small parts and OB/GYN.
- Current BLS certification.
- Current HIPPA certification.
- Current Bloodborn Pathogens certification.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience as a clinical instructor within a healthcare facility.
- Experience with a variety of instructional methods.
- Experience with multiple machine types, including Siemens sequoias, Siemens S2000, Philips iU22, and GE logiq 9.

Terms of Employment:
This part-time hourly position is bound by the WAC provisions above. This position is scheduled Monday through Friday and weekends, Flexible up to 17 hours a week. The salary is $30.00/hr. Flexibility in scheduling is required to meet department needs. Hourly non-student employees may be applicable for a comprehensive healthcare benefits package for you and your dependents including medical, dental, and vision insurance. Life and long-term disability insurance plans and retirement benefits are also provided.
