Job Title: Diagnostic Medical Sonography Lab Assistant

Join Tacoma Community College as a Diagnostic Medical Sonography Lab Assistant and contribute to the success of our students in the Imaging Sciences program. As a key member of our team, you will provide essential support to students in the laboratory setting, ensuring they receive a high-quality learning experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor student progress in the laboratory setting and provide guidance and support as needed.
  • Assist students with abdominal, small parts, and OB/GYN scanning protocols, ensuring they understand and can apply the necessary techniques.
  • Communicate laboratory supply needs to DMS and/or RS faculty and staff, ensuring a smooth and efficient learning environment.
  • Motivate students by providing a positive and supportive environment for growth and development.
  • Utilize technology tools to enhance student learning and engagement in any learning environment.
  • Collaborate with DMS and/or RS faculty and staff regarding student concerns and progress.
  • Commit to Tacoma Community College's mission and values of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion.
  • Coordinate open lab schedules for Imaging Sciences students, ensuring access to the laboratory for all students.
Requirements:
  • Graduation from an accredited sonography program.
  • ARDMS registration in abdomen/small parts and OB/GYN.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Current HIPPA certification.
  • Current Bloodborn Pathogens certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience as a clinical instructor within a healthcare facility.
  • Experience with a variety of instructional methods.
  • Experience with multiple machine types, including Siemens sequoias, Siemens S2000, Philips iU22, and GE logiq 9.
