Key Responsibilities:

+ Develops, refines, and validates methodologies for assessing and analyzing risks across all categories, including market, credit, and operational risks. This may also involve the development and validation of scoring models and related policies.

+ Oversees model risk throughout the model life-cycle, including validation, ongoing performance assessments, and annual reviews.

+ Generates analytics and reports utilized for managing risk within the organization.

+ Translates operational requests from various departments into programming and data specifications, conducting systems and operational research to model anticipated outcomes.

+ Aids in the creation of analytical engines for various business product lines.

+ Effectively communicates results to diverse audiences.

+ Conducts thorough analyses and compiles detailed technical documentation reports for validation purposes, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and exceeding industry benchmarks.

+ Collaborates on teams to address business challenges.

+ Identifies modeling opportunities that lead to measurable business improvements.

+ Provides mentorship to junior validators as needed.

+ Manages interactions with model developers and business stakeholders throughout the model life-cycle.

+ Represents the organization in discussions with regulatory bodies as necessary.

+ Presents findings from model validation to senior management and supervisory authorities.

+ Offers constructive challenges to model assumptions, mathematical formulations, and implementations.

+ Evaluates and quantifies model risk due to limitations, informing stakeholders of their risk profile and the development of compensating controls.

+ Contributes to strategic, cross-functional initiatives within the model risk division.

+ Appropriately assesses risk in business decision-making, demonstrating a strong commitment to the organization's reputation and safeguarding its interests by ensuring compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations, adhering to policy, exercising sound ethical judgment regarding personal conduct and business practices, and transparently managing and reporting control issues.

Qualifications:

+ 6-10 years of relevant experience.

+ Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly MS Excel.

+ Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.

+ Self-motivated and detail-oriented.

+ Proven project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

+ Practical experience using SAS or similar statistical programming software to develop and test predictive models, with comfort in interfacing with business clients and managing large datasets.

+ Experience in a quantitative role within risk management at a financial institution, with a focus on either model development or validation.

+ Strong knowledge and understanding of various model development and validation testing techniques applicable to risk models.

Education:

+ Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; a Master's degree is a plus.
