Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Engineer to join our team at Peraton. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing technical solutions to meet customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement technical solutions to address customer needs
  • Coordinate requirements with customers and internal stakeholders
  • Manage and perform implementation of approved technical solutions
  • Participate in all phases of the development life cycle, with emphasis on planning, analysis, testing, and acceptance
  • Design and prepare technical reports and related documentation
  • Prepare briefings and updates on project/task status
  • Prepare purchase requests and configuration management documentation
  • Attend Integrated Product Team (IPT) meetings with government customers
  • Interact with customers to determine needs and ensure solutions meet those needs
  • Provide technical expertise and respond to tasking's
  • Build UNIX / Linux servers, ensure security requirements are met, test servers/systems/software/hardware, and integrate/install them into the production environment
  • Ensure all necessary documentation to operate and maintain equipment and/or software is provided to the Operations Division team members
  • Perform performance monitoring and provide documentation of issues and recommendations to Operations Division team members
  • Perform daily Linux administration duties
Requirements
  • 2 years with BS/BA; 0 years with MS/MA; 6 years of relevant work or military experience accepted in lieu of the degree
  • Experience with RedHat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 7.x / 8.x, VMware VSphere 6.x and higher, Red Hat Satellite 6.7 and higher
  • Experience with Automation/Configuration Management for Linux (Puppet/Ansible)
  • Experience with Containers (Docker/Kubernetes) and Container Orchestration (Tanzu/OpenShift)
  • Experience with vRealize Automation and vRealize Operations
  • Working understanding of system engineering processes and tasks including requirements gathering, creating a technical solution, implementation, and test/verification
  • Experience with System integration (hardware, software, network, and database)
  • Experience with Multi-hardware system operation, performance, and system effectiveness
  • Experience with SAN hardware layout and configuration
  • Experience with system security, Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG)
  • Experience with system engineering tools, Visio
  • Strong technical writing skills
  • Clearance Requirement: Active DoD TS/SCI
  • Poly is desired
  • Required Certifications: DOD 8570 Information Assurance Technical Level II (or higher)
  • Desired Certifications: ITIL Foundations, Red Hat Certified Systems Administrator (RHCSA), Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE)
