Traveling GSE Mechanic

Join Alvest Equipment Services (AES) as a Traveling GSE Mechanic and represent our company in the Alask region. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for completing service repairs and maintenance on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, adhering to service bulletins, and performing computer-based software updates, diagnostics, and troubleshooting for Ground Support Equipment.
Responsibilities:- Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, HVAC, and/or discrepancies on various Ground Support Equipment (GSE) systems and subsystems.
- Inspect, repair, and/or overhaul components, such as mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, HVAC, and hydraulic systems.
- Disassemble components, inspect for quality factors, and reassemble to OEM specifications.
- Strictly adhere to common aviation practices of Tool Control, FOD Prevention, Safety, and Parts Accountability.
- Strict adherence to all environmental safety and regulatory commissions, including (but not limited to) Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
- Ability to disassemble components and to reassemble.
- Professional interaction with internal and external customers.
- Performs routine housekeeping duties, including cleaning work area, tool boxes, and company vehicle(s).
- Inspects, repairs and/or overhauls components, such as mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Ability to perform physical requirements of the job (prolonged physical exertions, including standing, lifting, pushing, pulling, squatting, bending, etc.).
- Good mechanical aptitude with basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and repair.
- Minimum 2 years performing repair and maintenance on vehicles, equipment, and related components.
- Experience with diesel powered vehicles preferred.
- Familiarity with the use of repair manuals, wiring (electrical) diagrams and schematics necessary to troubleshoot or repair failed components.
- Ability to work in all weather conditions.
- Must possess basic hand tools necessary to perform assigned tasks.
- Familiarity with using a computer.
- Additional skills may be required to complete an additional task(s) specific to work location.
