Position Overview

Summary
The Preschool Support Educator plays a vital role in fostering the social and emotional development of children aged 3-5 years. This position involves assisting the lead teacher in executing engaging lesson plans that prepare young learners for their transition to Kindergarten. The educator will maintain a nurturing and disciplined environment, promoting active play and learning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate children's emotional and social growth, promoting empathy and positive self-image.
  • Provide care for children in a structured educational setting.
  • Implement behavior management strategies, including encouraging personal responsibility and assisting with toilet training.
  • Recognize and report any signs of emotional or developmental challenges to parents or guardians.
  • Observe and engage with children during playtime activities.
  • Maintain detailed records for each child, documenting daily activities, meals, and any medications given.
  • Teach children about health and personal hygiene, including eating and resting habits.
  • Read stories and introduce basic art, crafts, and music to enhance creativity.
  • Organize and maintain educational materials and toys to ensure a tidy and stimulating environment.
  • Ensure a safe and clean play area for all children.
  • Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding children's progress and behavior.
  • Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans.
  • Supervise children's rest periods effectively.
  • Handle administrative duties such as attendance tracking and internal documentation.
  • Assist in staff training and scheduling as needed.
