Position Overview

Summary
The Preschool Support Educator plays a vital role in fostering the social and emotional development of children aged 3-5 years. This position involves assisting the lead teacher in executing engaging lesson plans that prepare young learners for their transition to Kindergarten. The educator will help maintain a nurturing and structured environment that promotes active play and discipline among children.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate children's emotional and social growth, promoting empathy and positive self-esteem.
  • Provide care and supervision for children in a structured educational setting.
  • Implement behavioral management strategies, including encouraging personal responsibility and tidiness.
  • Recognize and report any signs of emotional or developmental concerns to parents or guardians.
  • Monitor and engage with children during playtime activities.
  • Maintain detailed records for each child, including daily observations, activities, meals, and any medications given.
  • Teach children about health and personal hygiene, including eating and resting habits.
  • Engage children in reading and creative activities such as painting, drawing, and singing.
  • Organize and maintain educational materials and toys to ensure a tidy learning environment.
  • Ensure a safe and clean workspace, including sterilizing equipment and maintaining hygiene.
  • Assist with dressing and personal care routines, including diaper changes and potty training.
  • Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding children's progress and daily activities.
  • Develop age-appropriate lesson plans tailored to the children's developmental needs.
  • Manage children's rest periods effectively.
  • Handle administrative tasks such as attendance tracking and paperwork management.
  • Participate in staff training and scheduling as needed.
