Job Overview

Position Summary
The Preschool Support Educator plays a vital role in fostering the social and emotional development of children aged 3 to 5 years. This position involves assisting the lead teacher in executing engaging lesson plans that prepare young learners for their transition to Kindergarten. The educator will also be responsible for maintaining a structured and active learning environment that promotes growth and discipline among the children.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate children's emotional and social growth, promoting empathy and positive self-image.
  • Provide care and supervision for children in an educational setting.
  • Implement behavioral management strategies, including encouraging personal responsibility and tidiness.
  • Recognize and report any signs of emotional or developmental concerns to parents or guardians.
  • Monitor and engage with children during playtime activities.
  • Maintain detailed records for each child, including daily observations, activities, meals, and any medications given.
  • Instruct children on health and personal hygiene practices.
  • Engage children with reading activities and creative arts such as painting and music.
  • Organize and maintain educational materials and toys to ensure a tidy and stimulating environment.
  • Ensure a clean and safe workspace.
  • Assist with dressing, diaper changes, and toilet training as needed.
  • Provide a secure play environment for all children.
  • Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding children's daily experiences and behaviors.
  • Develop age-appropriate lesson plans tailored to children's developmental needs.
  • Manage children's rest periods effectively.
  • Perform administrative duties, including attendance tracking and internal documentation.
  • Participate in personnel functions such as training and scheduling.
