We are seeking a highly skilled Facilities Maintenance Technician II to join our team at El Rio Community Health Center. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for maintaining the building environment and accessibility by repairing and maintaining building equipment, heating, cooling, electrical, plumbing systems, and grounds maintenance.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in maintaining building climate by installing, repairing, and servicing heating, ventilating, and air-conditioning equipment.
- Troubleshoot and correct electrical issues associated with lighting, switches, electrical junction boxes, and circuit breakers.
- Perform lighting upgrade retrofit, utilize voltage testers, receptacle testers, digital specialty testers, and multimeters.
- Maintain and use facilities maintenance equipment, including a welder, soldering torch, portable generators, table saw, industrial grinder, power paint sprayer, pressure washer, electric drain auger, etc.
- Maintain and repair all clinical and administrative building issues, including plumbing repair and install, window seal repair and replacement, water filter replacement, water heater flush, fire system emergency lighting test/troubleshooting and repair, door lock sets repair and replacement, install and adjust door closures, tile install (VCT, carpet) ceiling tile and grid install, install and repair drywall, apply tape, texture, and paint, repairs damaged parking lot asphalt.
- Perform and document monthly elevator inspections and fire extinguisher inspections.
- Involved in transport and disposal of biohazard waste, expired medications, paint, and other hazardous materials/chemicals.
- Maintain flammable storage lockers and safety data sheets.
- Maintain grounds by operating, inspecting, and repairing irrigation systems. Maintain private water well, including filter cleaning, troubleshooting, parts replacement, and electrical repair.
- Maintain continuity by documenting maintenance actions, noting system or equipment irregularities requiring continued monitoring.
- Read and interpret building blueprints.
- Operate in multiple building type trades to ensure necessary maintenance can be accomplished efficiently to minimize potential clinical or administrative interruptions.
- Properly equip offices by moving or relocating furniture and equipment, installing modular furniture, installing PT equipment, and reinforcing walls to structurally sound to support requirements.
- Frame and construct walls to build offices or work areas.
- Determine new electrical outlet and data port locations and coordinate contractor support or HVAC for redesign efforts.
- Manage detailed organization and maintain the facilities storage.
- Keep clear and safe passageways.
- Organize, develop, and maintain a functioning arrangement for incoming and outgoing facility storage items.
- Label all storage items and upload information into computerized inventory log.
- Determine the serviceability of unneeded equipment or furniture and prepare for repair, disposal, or sale.
- Properly store, date stamp, and inventory unused paint and dispose of when expired.
- Maintain facilities supply equipment at all clinics as required and approved by the facilities supervisor.
- Transport medical equipment as assigned and comply with authorizing a Motor Vehicle Abstract from the Arizona Department of Licensing that is reviewed to assess minimum eligibility for determining driving privileges annually.
- Adhere to El Rio Community Health Center Policies and Procedures governing Company Use Vehicle and in accordance with local, state, and federal laws, as well as common standards of safe driving, courtesy, and approved number of riders that may be transported.
- Ensure materials and tools are stored properly when vehicle is utilized for maintenance/facility purposes.
- Ensure vehicles are clean, reflecting the high standards of El Rio Community Health Center, and no items are stored on the dashboard.
- Report time for periodic maintenance and repairs when operating an El Rio Community Health Center vehicle to the appropriate El Rio Community Health Center contact.
- Contribute to team effort; and comply with all facility policies and procedures, including but not limited to those addressing HIPAA and Compliance.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic work environment in compliance with all Policies and Procedures, including but not limited to work areas, workstations, examination rooms, hand washing, infection prevention and control, etc., for this position.
- Demonstrate an understanding of and proficiency with the application of all compliance and reporting requirements respective to Joint Commission Certification (JCC) standards.
- High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (G.E.D.).
- Three (3) years of related maintenance/facilities experience and/or training.
- Must be twenty-one (21) years of age or older for liability coverages.
- Five (5) years of related maintenance/facilities experience and/or training.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) with the ability to speak, read, and write in both languages.

Subject to exemptions and accommodations when required by law.
All employees are required to undergo drug testing prior to employment and will be subject to post-accident, reasonable suspicion, return to duty, and follow-up drug and alcohol testing in compliance with Federal and State regulations for alcohol and controlled substance testing. Employees in positions holding responsibility for the safety and welfare of others will also be classified as safety-sensitive.
