Key Responsibilities:
The Lead Geologist will be responsible for conducting or overseeing a range of environmental and geotechnical projects, which include but are not limited to:
1. Developing, implementing, and managing geological, hydrogeological, and geotechnical investigations.
2. Designing, constructing, and monitoring groundwater monitoring wells.
3. Analyzing scientific data and preparing/reviewing technical reports.
4. Engaging with regulatory agencies to ensure compliance.
5. Effectively managing project timelines and budgets.
6. Participating in business development and marketing activities.

Qualifications:
Applicants should possess the following qualifications:
- A Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree in geological sciences, earth sciences, geotechnical engineering, or a related field.
- Registration as a Professional Geologist in the State of California.
- A minimum of eight years of experience in providing geological or geotechnical services, including:
- Groundwater hydrology
- Engineering geology
- Groundwater well design, construction, and monitoring
- Compliance reporting

Strong project management skills, proficiency in writing, and effective oral communication are essential. Candidates must demonstrate attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, and the capability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team. Proficiency in computer applications, including the Microsoft Office suite and technical analytical software, is required. Candidates must also be eligible to work in the United States and possess a valid driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications:
- An advanced degree in geological science, earth science, or geotechnical engineering.
- Experience in the solid waste industry.
- OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training and current 8-hour annual HAZWOPER training.

Work Environment:
The position requires regular travel, working at remote sites, and interaction with team members, clients, contractors, and the general public. Candidates will frequently work at municipal solid waste disposal sites, hazardous waste sites, and mining locations. The ability to lift up to 50 pounds is necessary. Employment is contingent upon a pre-employment physical examination, including drug screening.

Compensation:
The salary range for this position is $90,000.00 to $120,000.00, commensurate with experience.
