Position Overview:
The MRI Imaging Technician is responsible for operating advanced imaging equipment to capture detailed images that assist in the diagnosis and treatment of various medical conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and position patients accurately, selecting appropriate anatomical and technical parameters to generate high-quality cross-sectional images.
- Conduct pre-screening, scheduling, and provide educational information to patients regarding the imaging process.
- Enter and monitor patient data, ensuring the secure transfer of images.
- Administer contrast media and medications in accordance with established protocols and regulatory standards.
- Guarantee the timely submission of all images and documentation to the PACS, ensuring image quality and accuracy of patient information.
- Maintain the functionality of imaging equipment, reporting any issues to the relevant personnel.
- Uphold cleanliness and organization within the department, including procedure rooms and storage areas.
- Maintain a vigilant and safe working environment.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Educational Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in a relevant field.
Experience:
- No prior experience necessary.
Physical Demands:
- Continuous standing and walking.
- Frequent visual acuity for near and far distances.
- Regular use of auditory skills for communication and monitoring equipment.
- Frequent lifting and moving of patients and objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
- Occasional lifting of heavier objects (25-50 lbs) and performing physical movements such as bending and twisting.
Required Certifications:
- Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) certification from the American Heart Association.
- ARRT-MR certification in Magnetic Resonance Imaging from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
