SAIC's National Intelligence Community (NIC) Business Unit, part of the USG Mission and Information Technology Division, is dedicated to delivering innovative solutions and services that support digital modernization initiatives. Our focus areas include systems engineering, multi-cloud environments, cybersecurity, data analytics, artificial intelligence, machine learning, quantum computing, application development, SecDevOps, cloud network operations, and secure communications.

We are in search of dedicated Cybersecurity Systems Assurance Specialists (CSSA) to enhance our team. Your technical expertise will be vital in supporting various programs, organizations, systems, or enclaves' information assurance initiatives.

As a CSSA, your role will encompass the development, coordination, implementation, and enforcement of information systems security policies, standards, and methodologies.

Your responsibilities will include maintaining the operational security posture of information systems to ensure compliance with established security policies, standards, and procedures.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in managing security components of information systems and conduct daily security operations.
  • Evaluate security solutions to ensure compliance with security requirements for classified information processing.
  • Perform vulnerability assessments and risk analysis to support certification and accreditation (C&A).
  • Provide configuration management for information system security software, hardware, and firmware.
  • Manage system changes and assess their security implications.
  • Prepare and review essential documentation, including System Security Plans (SSPs), Risk Assessment Reports, C&A Packages, and System Requirements Traceability Matrices (SRTMs).
  • Support security authorization activities in alignment with the National Institute of Standards and Technology Risk Management Framework (NIST RMF).
  • Maintain records for workstations, servers, routers, firewalls, intelligent hubs, network switches, etc., including system upgrades.
  • Develop and maintain C&A documentation per ODNI and DoD policies.
  • Assist the Information System Security Manager (ISSM) in sustaining the operational Information Assurance posture.
  • Update system security plans and other Information Assurance documentation.
  • Administer user identification and authentication mechanisms for information systems.
  • Obtain C&A for the information systems under your supervision.
  • Act as the Approval Authority for the information systems you manage.

Qualifications:

Qualifications will vary based on skill level:

  • Active TS/SCI with Polygraph is mandatory for all skill levels.
  • Full performance level: Minimum of five (5) years of ISSO experience and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field (Four (4) additional years of ISSO experience may substitute for the degree).
  • Senior level: Minimum of ten (10) years of ISSO experience and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field (Four (4) additional years of ISSO experience may substitute for the degree).

Desired Skills:
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in:
  • Knowledge of current security tools.
  • Implementation of hardware and software security.
  • Understanding of communication protocols.
  • Proficiency in encryption techniques and tools.
  • Compliance with DoD 8570 standards at IAT Level I or higher.
  • Compliance with Information Assurance Management (IAM).

Preferred Education:

Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred.
