Job Title: Attorney Advocate

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Attorney Advocate to join our team at the Domestic Violence Center of Chester County. As an Attorney Advocate, you will play a critical role in providing specialized legal services to victims of domestic violence.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide confidential and empathetic support to victims of domestic violence, ensuring their legal rights are protected and their needs are met.
  • Collaborate with the District Attorney's Office, Court Administrative Office, and other community agencies to coordinate referrals and ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Assist victims with filing Emergency Protection from Abuse Orders, injunctions, elder abuse petitions, and other protective orders.
  • Advocate on behalf of victims with other service providers, ensuring their voices are heard and their needs are addressed.
  • Work in partnership with the Director of Legal Services, CEO, and other staff leaders to ensure services are provided at the Chester County Justice Center.
  • Prepare progress reports and maintain accurate records of client interactions and services provided.
Requirements:
  • Required Juris Doctorate and membership in the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania.
  • Experience working with Family Law and a strong understanding of issues confronted by victims of abuse.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple cases and priorities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a commitment to confidentiality and discretion.
