About the Position

We are seeking a highly skilled High-Performance Electric Motor Systems Engineer to join our team. This is a full-time office-based position, working 7:30 am - 4 pm Monday to Friday. If you are a talented and experienced engineer with a degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Systems Engineering, and a minimum of 5 years' experience in electric motor design, we encourage you to apply. Our company is a small business that designs and manufactures specialty high-performance direct current motors, offering a complete line of controllers, solenoids, and wire kits. Our primary market is the golf cart market, and we support other markets such as auto hauler, electric vehicle, utility vehicle, neighborhood electric vehicle, hunting buggy, mining, go karts, warning sirens, agriculture, material handling, and more. As a Senior Electric Motor Design Engineer, you will utilize your technical expertise to drive our engineering projects, support customer needs, and enhance our product offerings. You will work on various tasks, including reviewing and developing options for customer requests for quotes, working with the software team to improve existing calculation tools and develop new ones, releasing specialty motors to production, and assisting customers with technical issues. You will also maintain motor print and performance data, facilitate product quality, interact with suppliers, and analyze potential aftermarket product line enhancements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and develop options for customer requests for quotes, utilizing proprietary internal tools to offer customers the correct motors for their application.
  • Work with the software team to improve existing calculation tools and develop new ones to enhance our product offerings.
  • Release specialty motors to production, following established standard operating procedures and creating new motor model numbers and part numbers.
  • Assist customers with technical issues, troubleshooting defective motors and working with customers to achieve desirable performance.
  • Maintain motor print and performance data, ensuring all prints are current and up-to-date, and making revisions or updates as necessary.
  • Facilitate product quality, working with the production team to ensure product quality and communicating with production staff and management to ensure supplier material/part compliance with our prints.
  • Interact with suppliers to rectify part compliance issues and ensure our product quality is maintained.
  • Analyze potential aftermarket product line enhancements to identify opportunities for growth and development.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Master's degree a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in engineering fields, preferably in motor design.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with others and work on a team.
  • Experience with electric motors, CAD software, and simulation tools preferred.
  • Proficiency in electric motor design, analysis, and testing.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Effective communication and project management abilities.
  • Relevant certifications in motor design or related areas.
  • Previous experience in a senior engineering role.
Benefits
