Job Summary

CoxHealth is seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant III to join our team. As a Medical Assistant at CoxHealth Orthopedics, you will play a crucial role in the day-to-day operations of our clinic.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform administrative duties, including scheduling appointments and maintaining medical records.
  • Assist with clinical duties, such as taking and recording vital signs and medical histories, preparing patients for examination, and drawing blood.
  • Work closely with highly-rated healthcare professionals to provide exceptional patient care.

Requirements

  • Education: Graduated from a formal MA training program that included pharmacology class, anatomy/physiology, the basics of medication administration, and completion of a clinical externship, OR graduated with an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse Diploma.
  • Experience: None; previous experience in a healthcare setting, particularly in an ambulatory clinic setting, is preferred.
  • Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team, and proficiency in computer skills.
  • Licensure/Certification/Registration: Certification from a program recognized by CoxHealth, such as CMA (AAMA – American Association of Medical Assistants) or RMA (AMT – American Medical Technologist, or American Association of Medical Personnel), or LPN. Must obtain American Heart Association BLS within 90 days of hire.
