Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Transcriptionist/Support Specialist to join our team at Memorial Health University Medical Center. This role requires strong transcription skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transcribe radiologic interpretations using word processing and digital dictation equipment.
  • Provide secretarial support, filing, receptionist, and communication functions to the Interventional Radiology Department.
  • Identify patient preauthorizations/referral requirements and ensure they are met in a timely fashion to facilitate efficient billing and payment for elective, emergent, and urgent admissions.
  • Collaborate with physicians, patients, staff, and families to provide exceptional customer service and promote positive relationships.
  • Embodies the Memorial Health System Performance Excellence Standards of Safety, Courtesy, Quality, and Efficiency.
Requirements
  • High-school graduate required; Associate Degree or post-secondary education desired.
  • Minimum of one year transcription experience preferred.
  • Medical-secretary experience preferred.
  • Excellent typing ability (50-60 w.p.m.) and medical terminology required.
  • Near visual acuity to assure accurate transcription.
  • Proficient with personal computers and software (including Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to multitask while working on multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
