Job Summary:

Paragon Energy Solutions is seeking an experienced Nuclear Systems Engineer to support the development of nuclear power plant control, monitoring, and safety systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead instrumentation and control (I&C) projects, focusing on engineering, analysis, and documentation for operating and new nuclear reactors.
  • Collaborate with customers to ensure contract requirements are met through effective project management.
  • Develop system requirements for I&C systems and map system architecture to contract specifications.
  • Apply in-depth knowledge of nuclear power generating stations to guide I&C system design and customer reactor system designs.
  • Create comprehensive system-level documentation, including failure modes and effects analysis, reliability calculations, and system architecture drawings.
  • Prepare and review design documentation, such as hardware requirements, specifications, drawings, and test procedures.
  • Oversee project cost and schedule in conjunction with the Project Manager.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • At least 5 years of experience as a Systems Architect or System Design Lead for large complex system designs.
  • Experience working on nuclear safety-related I&C system development projects is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with nuclear quality programs or regulated environments is beneficial.
  • Technical expertise in design, plant systems, and/or technical analysis with small modular reactors, high-temperature gas reactors, or research and test reactors is desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to create positive change, think creatively, and adapt to changing priorities and customer needs.
  • Proven ability to handle multiple tasks, projects, and tight deadlines while maintaining quality and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, MS Project) and MATLAB/Simulink is desirable.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
