About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Site Operations Manager to oversee our team of protectors, ensuring the safe execution of traffic control operations and promoting a culture of safety within the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Area Manager and General Manager in managing a team of field staff.
  • Collaborate daily with area staff to drive continuous improvement in functional areas.
  • Direct supervision of field crews.
  • Maintain a balance between field and office responsibilities, with 80% of time spent in the field.
  • Ensure that safety, quality, training, employee engagement, and retention are top priorities.
  • Protect employees, customers, and assets from losses, injuries, and accidents through enforcement of safe work practices.
  • Coach, motivate, and develop team members.
  • Develop relationships with internal and external customers to achieve goals and identify new business opportunities.
  • Perform field and vehicle inspections, attend pre-bid meetings, and meet with clients as needed.
  • Resolve customer service issues promptly and efficiently while providing exceptional customer service.
  • Assist in preparing daily schedules.
  • Monitor employee issues, including payroll, timekeeping, benefits, time off requests, customer issues, and training requirements.
  • Foster teamwork and regular communication among team members.
  • Engage and support the training of new and current employees to reduce turnover, promote efficiency, and reduce labor costs.
  • Pursue ATSSA and state-specific certifications.
  • Become a subject matter expert in work zone setup/design and professional flagging.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED completion.
  • 4-year degree in a business-related field (optional).
  • 1-2 years of supervisor experience and team building with 20+ individuals.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to connect with field-level customers and contacts.
  • Excellent verbal and nonverbal communication skills.
  • Ability to build work relationships with your team.
  • Contribution to the engagement and ongoing development of AWP Safety employees.
  • Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Office products and customer relationship management systems.
  • Adherence to and promotion of safe workplace practices.
  • Valid Driver's License with no suspensions or revocations.
Working Conditions

The majority of time will be spent in the field, working in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat, cold, humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt. Occasional exposure to fumes or airborne particles, moving vehicles, and extreme conditions at construction job sites.

Benefits
  • Competitive salary: $58,000 - $65,000 per year.
  • Benefits-eligible on the first day of the month following hire.
