About the Stores Executive Internship

As a Stores Executive Intern at Target, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a retail leadership role. This internship is designed to develop and prepare you for a store leadership position, providing a realistic job preview of the Executive Team Leader role (Assistant Store Manager).

During this 40-hour per week, paid internship, you will work closely with other managers and team members to develop an understanding of how Target's retail business works. You will be introduced to multiple areas of the store's business, including guest service, team management, and operational performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and motivate a team to drive sales results, merchandise products, and provide an exceptional guest experience.
  • Work alongside a mentor to learn how to effectively lead a department within the store.
  • Develop and implement business strategies and goals, including recruiting, selecting, and talent management of hourly team members and leaders.
  • Partner with leaders to address team member concerns and remove hurdles to ensure smooth operations and goal attainment.
Requirements
  • Previous retail experience preferred, but not required.
  • Strong interest in working in retail, specifically within Target stores in management.
  • Leadership skills and team-oriented thinking.
  • Ability to learn and adapt to current technology needs.
  • Flexible work schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
