Job Summary

Mesa County is seeking a skilled Behavioral Health Clinician to join our Clinical Team. As a member of our team, you will perform a variety of clinical duties to support community behavioral health needs, including crisis response, law enforcement co-response, and community service provider collaboration.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide professional mental health services and system support services, including initial de-escalation, assessment, clinical intervention, and secondary collaboration.
  • Work closely with the Multi-Agency Collaboration (MAC) Team to provide community-based follow-up and support for individuals and families experiencing behavioral health-related emergencies.
  • Ensure continuity of care, including immediate and professional evaluation, collaboration with proper agencies, referral to appropriate services, and advocacy for necessary treatment.
  • Participate in public service events, public outreach and education, and response to community events as assigned.
Requirements
  • Master's or Doctorate degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling or a closely related field from an accredited program.
  • Licensed or license-eligible in the State of Colorado (LPC, LAC, LCSW, LMFT, PsyD).
  • Three or more years of progressively responsible experience after an advanced degree.
  • Experience working with crisis response and intervention, suicide assessment and safety planning, hospitalization, and community systems collaboration.
  • Ability to pass a background check, psychological examination, polygraph examination, physical examination, and obtain a security clearance for work with Criminal Justice Records.
  • Must have or obtain a Colorado Driver's License within 60 days of appointment and maintain throughout employment.
Working Environment

This position requires standing, stooping, sitting, bending, twisting, and lifting up to 60 pounds. Occasional exposure to hazardous situations involving physically violent persons, interviewing mentally or emotionally disturbed persons, and exposure to communicable diseases, infections, blood, and bodily fluids.
