We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Senior Social Worker to join our team at the Veterans Health Administration. Key Responsibilities
* Provide professional, independent, specialized mental health treatment to veterans in crisis, veterans with serious mental illness, veterans who are diagnosed with substance use disorders, and/or veterans who are experiencing a wide range of complex medical, psychiatric, emotional, behavioral, and psychosocial problems.
* Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in coordination with the interdisciplinary team, including goals for treatment and tailored plans to meet the unique needs of each veteran.
* Utilize a range of specialized interventions and treatment modalities, including individual, group, and/or family counseling or psychotherapy, to address the complex needs of veterans.
* Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care and coordination of services.
* Provide education and support to veterans and their families, promoting self-advocacy and empowerment.
* Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures to enhance the delivery of mental health services.
Requirements
* Master's degree in social work from a school of social work fully accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE).
* Licensure or certification as a social worker at the advanced practice level, such as LCSW or LMSW.
* At least two years of experience in a mental health setting, with a focus on working with veterans.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a focus on delivering high-quality care and services.
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience working with veterans and their families, with a focus on addressing complex mental health needs.
* Knowledge of evidence-based treatments and interventions, such as CBT and DBT.
* Familiarity with electronic health records and other healthcare technologies.
* Strong leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to mentor and support junior staff members.
