Job Summary

The Steadman Clinic is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Laboratory Manager to oversee the daily operations of our plasma rich platelet laboratory. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest level of quality and compliance in our laboratory operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain laboratory equipment performance by establishing quality standards, developing operations and quality procedures, and ensuring staff compliance.
  • Operate, test, and calibrate analytical instruments, equipment, and related components, which may be extremely delicate and sensitive.
  • Plan, direct, and implement improvements in systems, processes, and procedures to increase efficiency, productivity, and quality in the laboratory.
  • Review data for technical quality and compliance to protocols, methods, and sign off on all SOPs.
  • Lead regulatory audits and ensure that corrective actions are taken for identified errors.
  • Manage lab staff, including hiring, firing, and ongoing performance management, and ensure that they receive the on-going appropriate training for the complexity of services offered by the laboratory.
  • Document staff competencies and train staff in compliance with and adhering to the laboratory procedure manual and all applicable state/federal/facility regulations.
  • Provide a safe environment that protects employees from physical, chemical, and/or biological hazards.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in science or health care related field required.
  • Minimum of 3 – 5 years laboratory management and hematology experience required.
  • Supervisory and management experience highly preferred.
  • Experience in leading a COLA/CLIA audit required.
  • Effective data trending, document control, and technical bench skills.
  • Demonstrated understanding of procedures, policies, and documentation required to ensure compliance with standards of care.
  • Proven history of excellent organization, communication (both written and verbal), and interpersonal skills required.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent critical thinking skills, ability to work independently, and manage time effectively.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and workflow management skills required.
