Academic Coordinator/Advisor 1

Job Summary:

We are seeking an Academic Coordinator/Advisor 1 to provide academic advisement to undergraduate students in the Mechanical Engineering and Electrical Engineering programs. The successful candidate will coordinate academic programs, manage student recruitment, and develop individual academic plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide academic advisement to undergraduate students
  • Coordinate academic programs, including recruitment, retention, and graduation efforts
  • Manage student recruitment process and collaborate with the Pullman coordinator(s) to rank program applicants
  • Assess academic levels, respond to academic inquiries, and advise students
  • Develop individual academic plans and process and maintain student records
  • Assist the Undergraduate Studies Committee Chairperson in administering the undergraduate program
  • Prepare reports and respond to inquiries regarding program policies and procedures

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree and two (2) years' experience working with students in an educational setting or related experience
  • A Master's degree in a related field may substitute for one (1) year of professional work experience
  • Valid driver's license and ability to meet requirements in accordance with SPPM 7.10 and departmental driving standards

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated understanding of and ability to apply WSU policies and procedures as related to student records and undergraduate program requirements
