Position Overview:
Strong Village Veterinary Hospital is seeking a dedicated Animal Care Technician to enhance our expanding team.

Clinic Schedule:
Mon 8:00am - 6:00pm
Tues 8:00am - 7:00pm
Wed 8:00am - 5:00pm
Thu 8:00am - 7:00pm
Fri 8:00am - 5:00pm
Sat 8:00am - 4:30pm
Sun Closed

Compensation:
$15 - $18 (Urgent Care hours have a pay differential of $3.00/hr)

Strong Village Veterinary Hospital is excited to grow our team with the addition of a new professional. Our practice consists of a team of five veterinarians and specialized dental professionals who have recently merged.


We offer a comprehensive range of services, including soft tissue surgery, chill protocols, Fear Free techniques, and advanced dental procedures such as crowns, root canals, jaw repairs, and oral mass removals.

We are also in the process of enhancing our diagnostic capabilities with the upcoming addition of a CT scanner.


Our in-house laboratory is equipped with state-of-the-art tools, including the new Imagyst, an AI-driven cytology reader that analyzes ear cytologies, fecals, urines, and fine needle aspirates.

We have numerous exciting objectives that we are pursuing to continue our growth as a veterinary facility. Currently, we are working towards achieving AAHA accreditation, a rigorous process that only 18% of veterinary hospitals nationwide accomplish.

Benefits:
PTO - 80 hours
Full-time team members will receive additional PTO based on their tenure.

Key Responsibilities:

Impact of the Role:
The Animal Care Technician will assist Veterinarians and Veterinary Technicians in their various duties.

The Technician will help prepare animals for examinations and surgical procedures.

The Technician will aid in administering medical treatments.

The Technician will perform or prepare laboratory tests.

The Technician will administer medications under the supervision of a Veterinarian or Veterinary Technician.

The Technician will collect and properly handle/prepare in-house and laboratory specimens (cytology, blood draws, fecal samples, etc.).

The Technician will collaborate with staff to address any immediate needs.


The Technician will interact with animals and their owners in a courteous and tactful manner, ensuring that staff and clients are informed of any relevant medical information regarding animal care.

The Technician will maintain a healthy, safe, sanitary, and pleasant environment for the animals.

Qualifications:
Physical demands and work environment


The Animal Care Technician must possess the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb, as well as manipulate (lift, carry, move) up to 50 pounds and lift over 50 pounds with assistance.

Sufficient ambulatory skills are required.


The Technician must be able to work in noisy conditions with sounds from animals and equipment that can be moderately high.


The Technician is routinely exposed to various pets that may bite or scratch and, on occasion, may be exposed to anesthesia, radiation, biological hazards, and medication/controlled substances.


The Technician must have proficient written and verbal communication skills necessary to perform the essential functions, duties, and responsibilities of the position.

The Technician must be able to exchange accurate information with all clients and team members.
