About the Position

The University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Laboratory Technician III to join our Infectious Diseases Laboratory team. As a Laboratory Technician III, you will play a critical role in supporting the laboratory's diagnostic services, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of test results, and contributing to the development of new diagnostic methods.

Responsibilities
  • Manage laboratory submissions and computer database (VetView) to ensure accurate and efficient processing of samples and test results.
  • Perform daily client communication and assistance, responding to inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Prepare weekly income deposits, monthly billing, and federal permits, ensuring accurate and timely financial management of client accounts.
  • Develop and implement new and improved methods to enhance the laboratory's diagnostic capabilities, collaborating with team members to design and test new assays.
  • Contribute to the development of technical reports and presentations, communicating complex scientific information to clients and stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as veterinary medicine, biology, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a laboratory setting, preferably in a veterinary or diagnostic laboratory.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex laboratory issues.
  • Proficiency in computer software and databases, including VetView and other laboratory information systems.
