Job Summary

UPMC Horizon is seeking a Full Time Surgical Technologist to join the Labor and Delivery Team. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of surgical procedures. Your attention to detail and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment will make you an invaluable asset to our team.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare the operating room for surgical procedures by setting up sterile equipment and supplies.
  • Assist the surgical team by passing instruments, sponges, and sutures to surgeons and surgical assistants.
  • Help maintain a clean and safe environment by disposing of biohazardous materials and restocking supplies.
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure the successful completion of surgical procedures.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to maintain certification and stay up-to-date on the latest surgical techniques.
Requirements
  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Technologist Surgery Certified (TSC) certification.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and maintain a calm demeanor under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
