UPMC Horizon is seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to join our Labor and Delivery team. As a key member of our surgical team, you will be responsible for assisting surgeons and surgical assistants during procedures, preparing operating rooms, and maintaining a safe and clean environment.
Responsibilities- Prepare operating rooms for surgical procedures, including setting up sterile equipment and supplies.
- Assist surgeons and surgical assistants during procedures, passing instruments and supplies as needed.
- Help maintain a safe and clean environment, including cleaning and restocking operating rooms.
- Assist with patient preparation, including washing, shaving, and ensuring aseptic incision sites.
- Transport patients to and from the operating room, and help position them on the operating table.
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) or Technologist Surgery Certified (TSC) within 6 months of program completion.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting, Act 33, Act 34, and Act 73 FBI Clearance.
