We are seeking a highly skilled Building Official to join our team at Willdan. As a key member of our Building and Safety services team, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with building codes and regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Code Enforcement and Compliance: Review plans and specifications for new construction, additions, and alterations to ensure compliance with applicable codes and regulations.
  • Inspections and Surveys: Conduct inspections of existing buildings and premises to identify non-compliance and hazardous conditions.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Provide information and assistance to architects, engineers, contractors, and the general public on building codes and regulations.
  • Record Keeping and Reporting: Maintain accurate records and prepare reports on inspection and plan check activities.
  • Training and Development: Provide training to inspection, plan check, and administrative personnel on building codes and regulations.
Requirements
  • Experience: 5-10 years of related experience and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Certifications: ICC Building Official and Florida Licensed Building Code Administrator.
  • Skills: Ability to speak effectively before groups, knowledge of building-related codes and ordinances, and possession of State of Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation Licensed Building Code Administrator certificate.
